    Rainbow Centre envisions a world where persons with disabilities are empowered and thriving in inclusive communities. The early intervention programme provides educational and therapy support services to support the attainment of developmental skills in young children with disabilities.


    The Lead Early Interventionist ensures quality administrative and coordinating structures and processes to attain organisational effectiveness in support of student learning and development. The Lead Early Interventionist also ensures that student well-being is attained and enhanced through strong student-related policies and processes, including partnerships with key stakeholders.

    Critical Work Functions 

    Lead Curriculum & Instructional Excellence

    a) Manage the development of Centre-wide curriculum and programmes based on evidence-based practices to ensure materials and resources are developmentally appropriate
    b) Refine processes to achieve effective development of individual learning objectives and outcomes and progress monitoring through accurate and relevant assessment
    c) Drive and evaluate teaching and learning approaches applied to lessons to improve quality of intervention for students at the Centre
    d) Drive implementation of appropriate health, safety, nutritional and hygiene standards and procedures at the Centre
    e) Drive programme development through designing projects, analysing data andinterpreting findings

    Lead Holistic Student Development

    a) Manage the implementation of Centre-wide curricula, plan and implement programme level goals and targets related to maintaining and enhancing student well-being and development
    b) Lead improvements in teaching and intervention practices based on evidence based research and inquiry findings
    c) Develop new classroom management strategies
    d) Guide reviews of children's learning progress, goals and family priorities in coordination with other social service and healthcare professionals
    e) Support improvements on systems, processes and operations

    Lead Collaboration with families and stakeholders across disciplines

    a) Implement cross-sector programmes with industry leaders in social service and healthcare sectors
    b) Review the development and/or plan the enhancements of programmes and initiatives at Centre-level, cross-Centre level and Centre-family-community level
    c) Lead the development of new partnerships to improve programmes and services
    d) Conduct workshops for sharing knowledge and resources with staff, Centres, families and wider community

    Develop Self and Others for Greater Impact

    a) Engage actively in self-reflective practice, supervision and other professional development activities for improved professional practice
    b) Plan, support and provide feedback towards the professional development of staff
    c) Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and staff’s reflection to uplift the professional practice
    d) Guide or lead in teams to implement organisational or unit wide initiatives to achieve Rainbow Centre’s goals and objectives

    Job Holder Requirements

    • Diploma or Degree in a related field (i.e. Psychology, Social Work, Human Services) from a recognised Tertiary Institution
    • Eligible for Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs) (SDESN) or equivalent
    • At least 8 years experience teaching in an Early Intervention setting
    • Demonstrated ability in leading peers and teams
