Assistant Life Coach [Day Activity Centre]

The Assistant Life Coach supports the delivery of daily programmes and care for adults with disabilities within the Adult Empowerment Services (AES). The role assists in facilitating structured activities, providing personal care support where required, and ensuring a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for clients.

Working under the guidance of the Life Coach and Senior Life Coach, the Assistant Life Coach supports programme implementation, client engagement, and daily routines, contributing to clients’ development in life skills, social participation, and wellbeing.

The Assistant Life Coach plays an important role in maintaining consistency in programme delivery, supporting client safety, and enabling meaningful participation in daily activities.

Critical Work Functions

Programme Support & Client Engagement

  1. Support the implementation of daily programme activities and routines as guided by Life Coaches.

  2. Assist clients in participating in activities that promote life skills, social interaction, and engagement.

  3. Provide individual support to clients during activities to encourage participation and positive behaviour.

  4. Support preparation and setup of programme materials, equipment, and learning spaces

Personal Care & Safety Support

  1. Build positive and trust-based relationships with clients to support engagement

  2. Provide personal care support (e.g. feeding, toileting, mobility assistance) where required, in accordance with care plans and guidelines.

  3. Monitor clients’ wellbeing and promptly report any concerns related to health, behaviour, or safety.

  4. Ensure health, safety, and hygiene practices are followed consistently during programme activities.

  5. Support safe transitions within the centre and during community-based activities.

Documentation & Administrative Support

  1. Assist in basic documentation of client participation, attendance, and daily observations as guided by Life Coaches.

  2. Support data collection and administrative tasks related to programme delivery.

  3. Ensure materials and resources are maintained and organised for daily use.

Team Collaboration & Professional Development

  1. Work collaboratively with Life Coaches, Senior Life Coaches, and multidisciplinary team members.

  2. Follow instructions and guidance from supervisors to ensure consistency in programme implementation.

  3. Participate in team meetings, briefings, and training sessions to strengthen skills and knowledge.

Job Requirements

  • A recognised Higher NITEC, or Diploma in Social Services, Healthcare, Special Education, or related fields.
  • Relevant training in autism, disability support, or caregiving will be an advantage.
  • Relevant experience in supporting persons with disabilities, elderly persons, or individuals requiring care support will be an advantage.

The Senior Executive (Facilities Management) will be responsible for ensuring smooth daily operations, maintenance and upkeep of the RC’s estate and facilities, through regular building and M&E inspections, compliance to authorities’ requirements and management of service subcontractors to effectively achieve the highest standard. The postholder will also ensure that all facilities maintenance issues and emergencies are attended to promptly and rectified with minimal inconvenience and disruption. The postholder will work closely with vendors/contractors such as security force, cafeteria and transport services.
