Strategic Initiative 3.2  Activating Good Life Champions aims to develop a digital platform and content suite to grow a vibrant community of befrienders and disability advocates, with the goal of strengthening their capabilities to build inclusive communities. 

We are looking for a Community Activator who plays a key role in building a community of befrienders, managing the development and launch of a digital web portal to match befrienders and youths with disabilities and creating inclusion related content, targeted at driving befriender motivation. 

The post-holder must be a quick thinking and multi-skilled professional with great communication, collaboration and multi-tasking abilities, with a strong interest in community development and digital engagement. He or she will be part of the Advocacy and Community Engagement (ACE) team and work closely with colleagues across RC and stakeholders: befrienders, volunteers, partners, public agencies, and various digital content creators. This role is a 2-year fixed term contract.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Project Management, Documentation and Reporting 

  • Befriender Community Development

  • Content Creation



  • A good tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Social Sciences or other relevant field 

  • Practical experience in planning, development, implementation, evaluation and reporting of innovative community, digital engagement programmes or ground-up initiatives are an advantage

  • Good knowledge of disability and community services 

  • Skilled in planning, communication, presentation, facilitation, event management, evaluation, report writing and correspondence

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills in dealing with and engaging people at all levels
