    The Associate Psychologist, working as part of an interdisciplinary team under close supervision of the Senior or Principal Psychologist, will be responsible for the delivery of quality psychological services and may work across a variety of settings at Rainbow Centre (early intervention, schools, out-of-school hours care and community outreach services etc).

    Critical Work Functions

    • Clinical Services
      • Assessment (informal or standardised): Select, apply and interpret psychological assessment methods and tools appropriate to the individuals and groups

      • Intervention: Develop psychological formulations that are informed by theories and evidences about relevant individuals, systemic, cultural and biological factors
      • Documentation: Integrate, organise and document the essential facts and observations of a case in a manner that is clear, coherent and in the best interest of the client

    • Service Administration

      • Data Management: Maintain and monitor client records related to service utilization in accordance to organisational and professional requirements.

      • Resource Management: Maintain inventories of equipment, materials and supplies.

      • Health & Safety: Ensure that the health and safety policy is adhered to and all equipment are properly and safely stored and maintained for safe use.

    • Continuing Professional Development
      • Engage in and articulate reflection and evaluation in practice, including evaluating the impact of contemporary issues related to the profession and sector.
      • Remain up to date and compliant with all relevant legislation, organizational procedures, policies and professional codes of conduct in order to uphold standards of best practice.

    Requirements

    • Honours Degree in Psychology (at least Second Class Upper) 
    • Preferably enrolled in Master’s Programme in Educational/Clinical Psychology with a recognized university
    • Working experience in a special education setting will be a definite advantage
