Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Teacher is responsible for providing quality learning experiences for students through the best deliverance of the curriculum.
To this end, the postholder guides the teaching team, partners with family members, allied professionals, community and other relevant stakeholders, engages in reflective practice and continuously seeks to innovate and enhance teaching and learning practices.
Provide Curriculum & Instructional Excellence

Plan engaging and well-paced lessons taking account of the diverse learner profiles of students

Deliver lessons using evidence-based pedagogy and meaningful activities, to meet the educational needs of individual students

Pro-actively facilitate and manage the students and learning environment to enhance motivation and behaviour, and opportunities for learning
Facilitate Holistic Student Development

Build a strong relationship with students, providing physically, emotionally and socially-safe relationships and environments for enhancing care and facilitating of learning for the students

Formulate data-based, student-centered IEP/ITP process for all students, and support their attainment of IEP/ITP goals through appropriate strategies implemented in partnership with families/caregivers, allied professionals and other relevant stakeholders

Design and implement positive, robust classroom routines and practices to create and maintain a safe and conducive learning environment as well as foster student development and well-being
Collaborate for Optimal Student Learning & Development

Work in partnership with allied professionals and appropriate other internal stakeholders for effective planning and execution of development strategies for the student

Work in partnership with family members to support student learning across school, home and community

Manage communications with families to support students and/or school initiatives
Contribute to Programme Development and Quality

Maintain and monitor client records related to programme utilization in accordance to organisational and professional requirements.

Ensure that the health and safety policy is adhered to and all equipment are properly and safely stored and maintained for safe use.

Assist in a CCA to enhance students’ learning experiences
Job Holder Requirements
- Only Singaporeans and Permanent Residents
- Diploma in Special Education (DISE) is required
- Registered teacher with Ministry of Education
- At least 2 years’ experience in a special education setting
