The Advocacy and Community Engagement (“ACE”) team leads the development and coordination of RC’s communications and partnerships to advance our mission. We serve as a channel to amplify our services and programmes, bridge our clients towards stronger acceptance in the community and contribute to progressing the narrative of disability inclusion in Singapore.
The Senior Executive, Strategic Communications plays an integral role in engaging RC’s partners through strong communications and content creation:. These include volunteers, corporate partners, donors and our communities, so that they connect with our vision and mission. He or She will also work with other internal units to enable quality inclusive experiences for our clients.
Critical Work Functions
Corporate Communications
- Communications Strategy Development: Work closely with Director, ACE to develop and implement an advocacy-driven communications plan that is synergistic with RC’s vision and mission of building inclusive communities
- Social Media Content Development: Grow RC’s audience and influence through content production on its social media channels
- Press Relations: Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets and influencers to secure press coverage on disability issues
Fundraising Communications
- Fundraising Campaign Management: Plan, create, and manage multi-channel fundraising campaigns that engage donors, raise awareness, and drive contributions
- Narratives Crafting: Craft compelling narratives, donor appeals, and impact stories that highlight the charity’s mission, achievements, and beneficiary experiences
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, corporate partners, and community supporters to align messaging and maximise campaign reach
Internal Communications
- Internal Communications Strategy: Develop and implement an internal communications strategy to ensure staff are informed, engaged, and aligned with RC’s mission and values
- Internal Communications Management: Content creation and management of internal communications work, including staff-wide emails, the RC staff site and other internal engagement platforms to share key updates, success stories, and organisational changes
- Staff Engagement Initiatives: Organise staff events to improve organisational culture and employee engagement
Job Requirements
- A good degree in Communications, Public Relations, Social Sciences or in a related field
- Community Programmes Management: Prior hands-on experience in journalism, content creation, communications or community engagement programmes, inclusion work, or ground-up initiatives are an advantage
